Dear editor,

I’m writing to you to talk about the heavy traffic. Recent years has seen great traffic congestion in big cities negatively influencing people's life and economic development. As for it, I'd like to share my opinions and provide some possible solutions.

To my mind, this issue was mainly caused by big cities' dense population which leaves little space for rapidly growing vehicles to travel through. Besides, heavy traffic arose partly because of poor traffic awareness of citizens', drivers and pedestrians included.

Consequently, governments are supposed to keep control of population moving to big cities and encourage non-local working population to make their living in their hometown, relieving city's stress to some extent and making contributions to a thrived hometown. Additionally, efforts must be made to regulate citizens' travelling habits. Legislation and education working jointly makes a difference.

I do hope my suggestions will be taken.
